A writer pontificates why him and other men had constantly picked up the wrong girls over the years, and what should be done about it, if anything …

Perhaps the women are picking you instead of the other way around. Do you go after everyone who gives you some attention and encourages you or do you have a firm idea of what it is that you want in a woman. While the former is interesting, and can land you somewhere completely different everyday it can also give you some insight into who it is that you are attracting subconsciously and what that says about you.

When we are constantly picking up the wrong girls it says two things; one that we are not truly as ready for a serious relationship that we think that we are and the other that women that aren’t necessarily ready for or interested in can relate to us in ways that we not willing to see or take into consideration. Neither says as much about us as we think that we should, but both suggest that we need to reevaluate our situation and pay more attention to what we are saying on a non-verbal, unconscious level.

Are these the wrong girls for you, or just girls that are not in it for the long haul (or what you want them to be in it for)? What makes them the wrong girls in the first place; perhaps what we think are the right girls for us aren’t necessarily the right girls and we need to be paying these women more attention than we think. Men are attracted to the wrong things in a woman because they present a challenge and attract him in ways he can’t fully articulate, but they may be the wrong girl for that one guy in particular, but are perfect for someone else.

You can’t say that you want a “good girl” and then gravitate towards everywhere “bad girls” can be found. You can’t go after every bad girl that pays you a little bit of attention or try to justify friendships with bad girls and then expect the good girls to seriously think that you want them. They know you’re interested, but they also know that the first opportunity that comes along you’ll go and do the wrong thing to mess that up. Times will change those, and you will eventually not only go after the right girls and pick them up, but will stop sending out the wrong signals to everyone else. Then this will all be a thing of the past …
