okay so the skinny jeans didn't work out for me so well …

A great time for men’s fashion

Posted by: goofy328 on: September 28, 2007

I’ve nothing better to do so I figured I’d take the time out to tell you about some of the snotty clothing I’ve desired for a very, very long time plus some new favorites. This is all on eLuxury, as I’ve mentioned before they have some very chic men’s fashion. First on the list is clothing from Dior Homme, mainly monochromatic classic black and white pieces that will be in style 50 years from now. Truly an investment in fashion forget about what they say about neocon designers like Ralph Lauren this is where it’s at.

  • Extreme Denim; this is Dior denim at its finest. You’re hard pressed to find denim like this from labels like True Religion this is something completely different.
  • Mohair Stripe Sweater; a great retro 80s look in a high quality mohair that isn’t too heavy for those nice fall evenings up North.
  • Long Tweed Coat; another great retro 80s look, updated of course – this classic is more than ready to take another spin on the fashion wheel.

3.1 phillip lim is a new label I came across today checking out the offerings on eLuxury; every now and then us old timers have to get out of character and see what the younger set is wearing, and these are some excellent unconventional attire that mixes the best of 90s deconstructed fashion with the fearlessness of future 10s fashion that is yet to come. Phillip Lim is truly ahead of the curve.

  • Hand Rolled t-shirt; this is taking the lightweight t-shirt to new heights, a whole different level, yet bringing an added layer of sophistication to it we haven’t seen in fashion that evokes a sense of 80s Armani.
  • Boy-Cut Hunter Jacket; an old 90s classic with a totally new cut. This is chic Pendleton for the 21st century.
  • Shawl Collar Cardigan; an ugly piece evoking the snottiness of Prada with a luxurious cut. Unapologetic, confrontational fashion goodness at its best.
  • Striped Pullover Sweater; 50s goodness, at last!
  • Boy-Cut Rain Coat; a super bright yellow we haven’t seen in a while that makes Versace look tame, great stuff!
  • Banded Collar Shirt; a nice take on an ordinary clean blue dress shirt.

There’s more, but quite honestly, I wasn’t impressed by my favorites; D & G isn’t on the mark, and Louis Vuitton offers absolutely nothing in the way of being able to purchase men’s clothing online, as usual. What I can do is leave you with this tounge-n-cheek Roberto Cavalli t-shirt; yeah we know summer is gone, but we need something to rock next year …
